Let me begin by introducing myself -- Vikram, a die hard fan of power bikes. And you will find all my research works published in this blog.
Now, we dive straight into the topic ! - Old Apache vs New Apache !
We all know that the Apache was launched a good 6-7 years back and it ultimately became TVS's dream bike to capture market share which was being grazed over on a monopoly basis by Bajaj's Pulsar.
Over the years since its launch, TVS had upgraded them apache into a more powerful 160cc enginer and introducing the term RTR (Race Throttle Response). Soon after, the Fuel Injected Version of the same was launched.
As time rolled by, we witnessed the 180cc elder sibling which roared onto the streets of India filled by passionate bikers. This bike , with its flagship color White squashed many of its competitions in terms of design, power and price.
The ABS version just boosted its sales, although people wanted more powerful variants , something like 250 (I Myself wanted a 300cc Apache :-))
Ahem ! Anyway, on April 23rd of 2012, we were introduced to a face-lifted demonic model of the Apache RTR Series. This however, din't seem like a smart move from TVS. The Apache was always known for solidity in appearance. This was something else.
It was cheesy in terms of its color, design and moreover , comparing to the earlier versions, this looked like a jester :-(
To make things worse, it looks like a distant cousin to the Pulsar and Discovery line-up :'(
